January 22-23

8:30 to 9	Check in- continental breakfast- ice breaker We delayed the start by a half hour so teachers can arrive calm and collected.
Session 1 9 to 10	Book Discussion An examination Robert Miller’s Historiographical approach We will have less introductory material so the majority of the time will be reserved for book discussion.	Increase Teacher Content Knowledge Teachers increase their knowledge of traditional American history. (Objective 4)
Session 2 10:10 to 12	Part One: Constructivist Reading in the Content Area – Paul Weill, Lane County ESD	Increased Understanding of Constructivist Teaching Methods Teachers improve their skills using constructivist teaching methods. (Objective 7)
Lunch	Break for lunch: chicken Enchiladas, salad, cookies and variety of beverages (diet coke too)
Session 3 1 to 2:30	Part Two: Constructivist Reading in the Content Area	Increased Understanding of Constructivist Teaching Methods Teachers improve their skills using constructivist teaching methods. (Objective 7)
Session 4 2:45 to 4	Lewis and Clark Work Session	Increased Understanding of Constructivist Teaching Methods Teachers improve their skills using constructivist teaching methods. (Objective 7) Increased Ability to Assess Student Learning Tied To Standards Teachers increase their ability to assess student learning tied to standards. (Objective 6)
4 to 6	Dinner – Local Restaurants Chloe’s, Depot Deli, Bronco Billy’s
Session 5 6 to 8	Historian Lecture/Dinner “Native America Discovered and Conquered” by Robert J. Miller. This lecture will be in the lecture room at Sisters High School.	Increase Teacher Content Knowledge Teachers increase their knowledge of traditional American history. (Objective 4)

Session 6 8 to 10:30	Lewis and Clark – Essential Understandings Lewis and Clark will lead focused help sessions for teachers that would like additional assistance with their comprehension and creation of Backward Design Lesson Plans. Teachers may work use this time to work with their teams, alone, or a combination of the above. 11 to 12.	Lunch – Soup and sandwich bar – chicken noodle and minestrone as soups. Variety meats, cheeses, breads, lettuce, tomato and onion, beverages and cookies.
